West Asia will be seeing a huge collaboration with China, as the recent business developments suggest that one of the Chinese companies will be investing in Oman. Zhongke Electric, a Chinese company, is planning to build a manufacturing facility in Oman, worth CNY8 billion.
This project will be built in two phases, in Sohar Port and Freezone. Each plant will take 36 months to complete. This project may involve more future investors. The international market's demands will be fulfilled with the manufacturing facility in Oman. This plant is estimated to produce an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of lithium battery anode materials.
One of the reports mentioned that China's factory had postponed Morocco's factory project worth USD 694 million, to fund the project in Omen. This is not the first time China has invested in Omen. Previously in 2024, China had invested an estimated amount of USD 6.6 billion, with 76 percent in the energy and petrochemical sector. This year a new deal of USD 200 million was made to build a wind turbine factory in Oman. Similarly, a USD 564 million solar power plant will be built in the north of the country by China’s JA Solar
