FairPrice Group (FPG) retail group from Singapore has partnered with Google Cloud to showcase the program Store of Tomorrow. This program is integrated with the latest cloud technology and artificial intelligence to the existing in-store and omnichannel retail touch points, to enhance the customer experience at Fair Price supermarkets.
According to this partnership, FPG will be deploying cloud-connected shopping carts, which will be built with an AI-powered store operations portal. Google Clouds has assisted the company in developing new retail solutions. Google has utilized major services which involve modern infrastructure, data management, and generative AI. This outlet will be opening in the third quarter of 2025.
Group Chief Executive Officer of FairPrice Group, Vipul Chawla said, “Through our Store Of Tomorrow Program with Google Cloud and its partner ecosystem, we’re applying interoperable, best-in-class gen AI and data analytics capabilities to reimagine shopper engagement across physical and digital formats and make things easier on the experience and wallet for our customers.”
These new shopping carts will be called Smart Carts, which will assist the customers with in-store navigation, spotlight promotion for near products, and provide product recommendations based on personal shopping needs. Furthermore, FPG will be developing Grocer Genie, a one-stop portal for store operations. This will be backed up with the AI, SOT program, and Google Cloud.
