Kazakh & Indonesian Firms Explore New Investment Avenues

A business-to-business session of Kazakhstan and Indonesia was organized in Almaty in the regional office of the "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, which aimed to increase trade and economic cooperation. Organized through the assistance of the Kazakhstan Embassy in Indonesia and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, the session united relevant stakeholders, such as KADIN (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), KAZAKH INVEST, QazTrade, and local businesspeople.

The agenda of the session was to support the export of Kazakhstani goods to Indonesia, emphasize investment initiatives, and create direct B2B links between companies from both countries. Attendees exchanged views on prospective cooperation in sectors ranging from mining to energy, infrastructure, and renewables.

Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Indonesia Serzhan Abdykarimov pointed out the intensifying bilateral relations and said, "The consistent building up of bilateral relations and expanding trade and economic cooperation with Indonesian business groups is of very great value."

The session closed with a few major agreements, such as investigating the opening of a Kazakhstani product exhibition centre in Jakarta, advancing Kazakh businesses at the Halal Indo Expo 2025, and further cooperation on investment prospects.

"Indonesian partners are expressing keen interest in investment projects in Kazakhstan, particularly in the sectors of subsoil use, energy, and infrastructure. This kind of meetings facilitates direct connections between businesses and opens up opportunities for tangible cooperation." said Zhamaldin Nadyrov, KAZAKH INVEST's Regional Representative in Almaty.

Serik Amirov, Kazakhstan's Foreign Trade Chamber Special Representative in ASEAN nations, said, "Indonesia is the biggest economy in Southeast Asia… and Kazakhstan's third-largest trading partner in the region."

The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to USD 300.5 million in 2024.
