Kazakhstan’s Akmola region has witnessed the launch of a new industrial zone, which is estimated to be built with more than the investment of US$2.4 billion. According to the sources, this region spans nearly 1,000 hectares.
Governor of Akmola region, Marat Akhmetzhanov highlighted “The industrial zone will host leading companies from Kazakhstan and abroad. The production will impact agriculture, processing, logistics and related industries, providing new momentum for regional growth.” Investors from China, Turkey and Singapore have already started seven ventures in the region. Hence, supporting both international and domestic production chains.
Noting the industrial zone's proximity to the capital Astana has also asserted the increase in logistics drive in the region, as Atasu group will be building its transport and logistics center in the region. Remsintez RK will be establishing its agricultural equipment plant, with a construction materials facility by Eagle Architecture Technology. Terracottas Astana Ceramic, a domestic company has initiated to include clinker production by the end of 2027. Similarly, Turkey’s YDA Group will be setting up an agrochemical complex for the production of fertilizers and pesticides. Kazakh Institute has also planned to yield growth by contributing to the launch of liquefied natural gas production.
This new industrial zone is expected to create more than 4,500 new jobs in the region. Director of Dalian Hesheng Holdings, Yao Sun said, “We aim to create 1,000 jobs and apply cutting-edge biofermentation and bioengineering technologies to serve markets in China, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe.” Dalian Hesheng Holdings will be building the largest grain processing complex project in the region with a total investment of 900 billion tinges.
Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov highlighted that the project will be supporting employment opportunities and agro-industrial growth, as 180 industrial projects are already in progress.
