LG Innotek, a leading South Korean electronic component manufacturer and LG Group affiliate, has announced a strategic partnership with Aeva, a US-based pioneer in perception technology, including an investment of up to US$50 million.
The alliance aims to leverage Aeva’s Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) LiDAR technology with LG Innotek’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to deliver high-performance sensing solutions across multiple industries. Under the agreement, LG Innotek will manufacture and supply Aeva’s Atlas Ultra 4D LiDAR sensors, strengthening Aeva’s supply chain for automotive applications.

Additionally, both companies will co-develop new sensing products for industrial automation and robotics, expanding the reach of Aeva’s core technology beyond the automotive sector.
Importantly, the collaboration will also explore FMCW LiDAR applications in consumer electronics, including smartphones, AR/VR headsets, and other future devices that demand compact, high-precision depth sensing.
