Meta, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development & Information (MDDI), InfoComm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Government Technology Agency (GovTech), Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), AI Singapore, and SGInnovate, has introduced the Llama Incubator Program in Singapore. This is the first initiative of its kind by Meta in the Asia-Pacific region.
The initiative, supported by e27 and Deloitte, will allow 100 organizations to utilize Meta’s open-source AI model, Llama, for creating cutting-edge AI solutions. Forty chosen participants will be nurtured to tackle actual business and public sector issues.
To begin the program, Meta organized a Foundational Workshop highlighting Llama's capabilities along with its integrated trust and safety features. The event, which attended by more than 100 attendees, included a keynote speech from Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development, Information & Health.
Philbert Gomez, the Executive Director of DISG, emphasized that the incubator will enhance Singapore’s position as a regional AI center.
GovTech's CEO, Goh Wei Boon, also mentioned that the Public Service track will enable government officials to collaborate with industry partners on AI-based solutions designed for public sector requirements.
Meta’s dedication to democratizing AI ensures that start-ups, researchers, and underrepresented groups can utilize powerful tools that promote transparency, accountability, and innovation. The program will conclude with a Demo Day in October 2025, during which participants will display their AI solutions and highlight their possible effects on businesses and the public sector.
