Ponyai Partners with Xihu Group to Deploy 1000 Robotaxis in Shenzhen

The Chinese large-scale achiever of autonomous mobility Pony AI Inc (Pony.ai) has made a strategic partnership with Shenzhen Xihu Corporation Limited (Xihu group) to create a new landmark in the local mobility network.

While Pony AI is known for achieving large-scale commercialization of autonomous mobility, Xihu Group is Shenzhen's largest taxi operator. This partnership was announced by Pony AI on June 02, 2025. Under this partnership, integration of the latest technology into the mobility sector is expected.

Both companies will be effectively launching 1,000 Pony.ai Seventh-generation (Gen 7) robotaxis in the city in future years. This partnership will also be creating history in autonomous driving, as it integrates it with an “asset-light + AI-empowered model”. This new integration will support the deployment of safe, efficient, and intelligent mobility services to a larger passenger base in all the tier-one cities of China.

Shenzhen Xihu Corporation Limited is known for its experience in managing the taxi fleet for decades. The taxi fleet company has more knowledge of the local regulatory compliance and services and efficient maintenance work. This combined with Poney.ai’s hardware and software technology, AI-powered order dispatch capability and deep understanding of user needs, will be creating innovative Robotaxi services across China.
