AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi’s port operator, has expanded its global footprint by opening its first international office in Beijing, China.
The new office aims to oversee and coordinate the group’s commercial and investment activities across China and broader Asia, signaling a significant step in its international expansion strategy.
The Beijing office will also be the business center for Noatum Logistics' new commercial division serving the Beijing-Tianjin area, a large market with more than 110 million people.
Key Highlights:
The strategic positioning of the office will add strength to AD Ports' role in China's Belt and Road Initiative, providing maritime routes between Asia, Africa, and Europe, as well as multimodal overland routes between China and Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi CEO of AD Ports' Group highlighted the significance of local partnerships: "We will work hand in hand with our Chinese counterparts to contribute to the development of key local, regional and international trade corridors."

AD Ports already has a notable presence in China through an industrial zone joint venture with Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation Investment Co. and joint venture with Cosco Shipping Ports at Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi. Recently, the company and Kazakhstan Railways' freight arm, KTZ Express, opened a new cargo route cutting transit times between Europe and China.
The ownership structure of the company includes close to 25 percent free float, while 75 percent is held by ADQ, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund. The expansion comes in line with AD Ports' focus on developing trade connections and infrastructure in Asia and beyond.
