Air India and Air Astana have inked an extensive codeshare agreement to increase connectivity between Kazakhstan and India, a major move in aviation cooperation for the two nations.
The agreement enables Air India to place its ‘AI’ code on Air Astana’s flights between Almaty and Delhi, as well as Almaty and Mumbai.
This move builds on an existing interline partnership established earlier in 2025, now evolving into a stronger alliance designed to cater to increasing travel demand across business, tourism, and education sectors.
Air Astana travelers will enjoy direct access to 18 Indian destinations and nine worldwide destinations through Delhi and Mumbai. Air India customers will enjoy enhanced access to Air Astana's Central Asian route network, comprising Astana, Bishkek, Tashkent, Dushanbe, and Urumqi.
