Foxconn and NVIDIA to Construct AI Supercomputer in Taiwan
Foxconn, Taiwan technology giant Hon Hai company, has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to build an AI supercomputing center of excellence in Taiwan. The partnership will help spur artificial intelligence research and development across industry, government, and academia in the region. The datacenter will be powered by NVIDIA's Blackwell Ultra systems, which will include GB300 NVL72 rack solutions, NVLink, Quantum InfiniBand, and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said, "Foxconn and NVIDIA are collaborating to create a cutting-edge AI infrastructure for Taiwan's world-class technology and electronics ecosystem."
The AI supercomputer will become one of the most powerful in Taiwan, offering high-performance computing capacity to serve multiple industries. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will use the system to boost its research and development, promising faster performance than older-generation systems.
Aside from the supercomputer, Foxconn's subsidiary Big Innovation Company will also be NVIDIA's first Cloud Partner in Taiwan. This further deepens the partnership between the two entities and provides broader access to NVIDIA's GPU ecosystem via the DGX Cloud Lepton platform
The AI infrastructure will enable Foxconn's three significant strategic platforms: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Electric Vehicles (EVs), and Smart Cities. Through the use of sophisticated AI capabilities, Foxconn wants to boost its international competitiveness and responsiveness in the fast-changing technology environment.
This alliance highlights the increased focus on AI-powered innovation and global collaboration in the technology sector, solidifying Taiwan as a hub of the global AI ecosystem.
