According to new hiring data from the all-in-one payroll and HR platform Deel, there was a 111 percent rise in the international recruitment of highly skilled Vietnamese professionals, particularly in the technology field, in 2024.
Deel’s data provides insights into new global employment patterns, including Việt Nam, showing significant growth in international recruitment and highlighting Việt Nam’s increasing impact on the global job market.
With a 111 percent rise in the international recruitment of skilled Vietnamese professionals, particularly in technology, it is evident that the robust global demand for high-skilled talent highlights the increasing competitiveness of Vietnamese workers and the expanding acknowledgment of their contributions across various industries globally.
Major global markets facing a shortage of tech talent, including the United States, Great Britain, and Singapore, has become leading employers of skilled Vietnamese professionals.
Singapore's increasing need for Vietnamese skills showcases its strengthening economic and diplomatic relations with Việt Nam, highlighted by the recent trip of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. In the meantime, the US continues to be a top employer, whereas Great Britain has climbed the rankings, overtaking Australia and Hong Kong this year.
"Việt Nam is one of the fastest-growing economies in the region, with a pool of highly skilled professionals who are increasingly recognised on the global stage," said Karen Ng, country lead and head of expansion Asia, Deel.
The most demand positions for Vietnamese talent also experienced shifts from 2023 to 2024. Although software engineers or developers continued to be the leading role, jobs in quality assurance and game development became more prominent, taking the place of roles like interpreter and statistician from the prior year.
Moreover, numerous Vietnamese firms are broadening their recruitment initiatives abroad, with leading positions including software engineer or developer, graphic designer, and antifraud analyst
