Microsoft’s third annual Pinnacle Summit took place at its India Development Center in Hyderabad, spotlighting India’s rise as a global hub for AI talent. The two-day event, themed “Unlock the Agentic Future – Where AI Meets Human Creativity,” focused on agentic AI, smart technology that can make decisions and handle tasks on its own. The summit brought together Microsoft leaders, developers, customers, and partners to explore how AI is changing the way industries work.
Microsoft emphasized India’s growing influence in AI innovation. CEO Satya Nadella shared that 20-30% of the company’s code is now created with AI. “Microsoft is now home for India to build AI. Our Copilots come with IQ, EQ, AQ (agency), and memory, complementing human ambition,” Nadella said. Companies like Wipro, Fractal, and Infosys showed how AI agents are cutting costs and improving decisions in real-world applications.
A big highlight was the rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, a free, secure AI chat tool for frontline workers. Microsoft also showcased Copilot Studio, which lets developers build custom AI agents with easy-to-use no-code and low-code options. Atomicwork’s AI agent, Atom, built on Azure AI Foundry, automates service tasks and has helped one customer handle 65% of requests automatically in just six months is an example.
India’s AI growth isn’t without hurdles. The country currently has fewer than 100,000 agentic AI experts, but demand is expected to hit 200,000 by 2026, pushing salaries for skilled pros to around Rs 25 lakh a year. Still, the summit buzzed with excitement, with Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry leading the charge in creating scalable AI solutions.
Pinnacle 2025 cemented India’s key role in the global AI scene. With agentic AI set to transform how businesses operate, Microsoft’s blend of human creativity and cutting-edge tech is paving the way for an exciting future.
