Practo, a Bengaluru-based integrated healthcare platform, has launched its services in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), starting with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. During a media briefing, the company stated that its next phase of expansion will focus on markets with a large Indian diaspora.
"Practo's expansion strategy demonstrates our commitment to making Indian healthcare innovations available globally. Following our profitability in FY24 and continued performance with positive cash flows in FY25, we are excited to expand Practo's presence in the UAE. This is just the beginning of our efforts to improve healthcare outcomes around the world," said Shashank ND, Practo's co-founder and CEO.
Shashank stated that Practo has had a B2B presence in the UAE for over a decade, providing hospital management software to top healthcare institutions including Life Medical Center, Emirates Hospital, and Healthcare Organisation UAE.
Combined, Saudi Arabia and the UAE account for 10-15% of Practo's annual revenue from B2B operations. On the B2C front, the company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) is growing by $200,000 from these markets.
The platform currently serves over 31,000 doctors and 3,000 healthcare facilities, with 50,000 monthly active users in the UAE. Practo has partnered with clinics and hospitals across the country, including e-Kaya Skin Clinic, Sulaiman Habib Hospital and Clinics, Micris Dental, Smile On Dental Clinic, and Quintinha Hospitals.
With its recent launch, the health-tech company broadens its reach by providing a comprehensive solution that extends beyond individual hospital networks. Users have 24/7 access to verified doctors in top specialties such as dentistry, dermatology, gynaecology, general practice, ENT, physiotherapy, and psychiatry, with instant appointment booking.
Practo believes that with many users frequently travelling between India and the Gulf for medical or personal reasons, its cross-border presence allows for seamless continuity of care. The platform connects UAE users with top Indian providers, and vice versa, to help patients in both regions. Users can conduct searches by specialty, symptoms, surgeries, or treatment options.
Practo has also announced plans for an initial public offering in the near future, though no time frame has been set. The platform operates in 22 countries and connects over 400 million patients with over 500,000 doctors across 14,500 pin codes. Its extensive network contributes to an impressive annual gross merchandise value (GMV) run rate of Rs 3,500 crore.
