Vietnam Airlines has officially launched a direct flight route between Da Nang and Osaka, marking a major step in expanding its international network and strengthening ties between Vietnam and Japan.
The inaugural flight, VN337, departed Osaka at 9:30 a.m. on July 3, arriving in Da Nang at 12:25 p.m. local time, symbolizing improved air connectivity between the two regions. The new route enhances travel options for tourists, business travelers, and the Vietnamese community in Japan, especially the 50,500 Vietnamese nationals living in Osaka. It also supports Vietnam Airlines' long-standing commitment to fostering tourism, trade, and cultural exchange across Northeast Asia.

To celebrate the milestone, a special event was held at Da Nang International Airport in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Da Nang City, featuring warm welcomes and commemorative gifts for passengers. Simultaneously, Kansai International Airport hosted a festive reception with traditional Japanese cultural performances.
The route is operated by an Airbus A321 and offers flexible scheduling, improving access to Osaka, a known for its mix of history, modernity, and proximity to Kyoto and Nara.

Vietnam Airlines now operates 10 routes and over 120 weekly flights between Vietnam and Japan, having served nearly 16 million passengers since launching its first Osaka route in 1994. With consistent 20 percent annual passenger growth, the new Da Nang–Osaka connection aligns with the airline’s 2025 goal of launching 15 new international routes, supporting Vietnam’s target of attracting 22–23 million international visitors.
