ACEN Corporation, the energy division of the Ayala group, entered into definitive agreements to acquire a 25% minority interest in Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners' (CIP) planned 1-giga watt offshore project in Camarines Sur. This investment represents an important step forward in the Philippines' development of large scale offshore wind.
Key Highlights:
The project site is located close to San Miguel Bay, enjoys shallow water depths, minimal typhoon, and is in relative proximity to grid infrastructure making it one of Para Philippines' most advanced offshore wind projects. Since being awarded a Wind Energy Service Contract (WESC) in 2023, the project has secured significant regulatory approvals including Green Lane status from the Board of Investments, and Project of National Significance classification from the Department of Energy.

After securing the Environmental Compliance Certificate in February 2025 along with a grid connection agreement with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines the project also reached 50% completion towards the submission of environmental and engineering approvals for the project.
CIP Partner Robert Helms remarked that ACEN's strong local understanding of stakeholders and project delivery will augment CIP's full aspiration of making the project among the first operational offshore wind farms in the Philippines.
