Ericsson's local office and Malaysia's biggest mobile operator, CelcomDigi Berhad, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to advance autonomous network operations in the country.
The partnership intends to optimize CelcomDigi's network operations with AI-driven network analytics, providing customers with a better network experience. In order to provide unique, superior connectivity services, CelcomDigi and Ericsson said they will work together to investigate the creation of sophisticated, intent-driven autonomous networks that make use of automation and AI.
AI-driven automation, 5G service assurance, and enhanced operational efficiency and service quality through autonomous solutions are important elements of the partnership. Ericsson will contribute knowledge and AI Intent-Based Operations (IBO) as part of the partnership to quicken the development of autonomous network operations.
Ericsson claims that the incorporation of AI-driven autonomous capabilities will reinforce CelcomDigi's continuous network modernization and integration initiatives.
"As an extension of our ongoing partnership with Ericsson, we are taking steps towards intent-based autonomous networks, harnessing AI and automation to transform how networks operate, optimise performance, and improve sustainability," CelcomDigi’s CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said.
According to David Hägerbro, President and CEO of Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, the partnership with CelcomDigi represents a significant advancement in Malaysia's digital transition.
