Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu have officially strengthened their defense partnership through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), appointing Fujitsu as a main supplier for the SPY-7 Subarray Suite Power Supply Line Replaceable Unit (PS LRU), a dynamic component of the advanced radar system. This collaboration supports Japan’s innovative Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) program, with initial purchase orders expected by the end of 2025.
Paul Lemmo, Vice President and General Manager at Lockheed Martin, stated, “This agreement ensures that Japan can rely on locally manufactured components for SPY-7, reinforcing long-term support and reliability. We are proud to be part of Japan’s evolving defense landscape and to contribute to its growing defense workforce.”
Tsuneo Hayashi, Corporate Executive Officer and SEVP at Fujitsu, rebounded the sentiment, “It’s an honor for Fujitsu to take part in producing the PS LRU, an essential element of the SPY-7 radar. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Lockheed Martin to support the radar's operational sustainability and enhance Japan’s national security.”
