Cher Wang is the Chairwoman and co-founder of HTC, a leading tech company from Taiwan. The company is known for its smartphones as well as VR products. She was also instrumental in founding VIA Technologies, a manufacturer of motherboard chipsets.
After earning her degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, she joined FIC and thereafter co-founded VIA in 1987 and HTC in 1997, rising to be one of Asia’s Famous Female Entrepreneurs. Under her leadership in 2008, HTC introduced the world's first Android phone and later shifted its focus to VR with the VIVE headset.
Cher has established her name as a figure in the tech world globally and has since featured on Forbes' and Fortune's lists of the most powerful women. Beyond entrepreneurship, Cher champions education efforts, having donated millions to the construction of Guizhou Forerunner College and donated thousands of tablets to schools in Taipei.
